Glen
A little shy at the front door, all sweetness once he knows you. Loves his walks; negotiating with slippery floors.
Shaker came to us from the American Lurcher Project — a soulful-eyed goofball, half-brother of the Stars & Stripes puppies, who celebrates his second birthday in August.
His story
Greyt Angels recently welcomed a very special boy into our foster program from the American Lurcher Project — you may have seen him on their Facebook page as Sherman. His original name was Shaky, but we’re calling him Shaker. And here’s what makes him extra special: Shaker is the half-brother of the Stars & Stripes puppies! They share the same father, and Shaker will celebrate his second birthday in August.
As he adjusts to life as a beloved pet, Shaker’s silly, puppy-like personality is shining through. He’s a total goofball who loves to give kisses, toss his toys around, and have fun. He enjoys trying to play with the other dogs in his foster home — they’re still deciding how they feel about his enthusiasm, but they’re slowly coming around!
Shaker has been doing great in his crate, is well on his way to mastering his house manners, and absolutely loves mealtime — he isn’t likely to turn down much of anything when food is involved. One of his funniest quirks: he’s quite the little collector. He’s become a blanket and shoe hoarder, happily gathering them into his own little stash. If you’re wondering where your slipper disappeared to, Shaker may know exactly where it is.
Shaker has completed all of his veterinary care and is available for adoption. And one more thing you should know about this handsome boy — he has the most endearing, soulful eyes you’ve ever seen. We have a feeling they’ll steal your heart just as quickly as they’ve stolen ours.
